I-540 Exit 98 Town Center Bella Vista

Bella Vista, Arkansas

K-9 unit drug search. Pulled over if you use the off ramp. Unknown beyond that, I drove through before they had started. 8:00PM they were setup but not stopping. At 8:45 on my south bound trip they were actively stopping north bound vehicles. Similar roadblock further south 2 weeks before was shut down by 11:15 so take from that what you will.

This Arkansas roadblock was added to the Roadblock Registry in April 2007.

I-540 North

Springdale, Arkansas

This is the first time I saw this on I-540. They did it two nights consecutively between Wagon Wheel Exit and Hwy 264 Exit in Lowell.

Hwy 31 at the Hwy 305 Junction

Floyd, Arkansas

There is a small convenience store located on the corner there with a medium sized parking lot, there are ussually between 5-8 police curisers and ussually at least one K-9 unit on scene. Also noted at least one EMT unit standing by at the carwash across the street for some reason.

They have the road blocked from three directions, the main road and onto the junction, every car is stopped and at least two offciers attend each car, one at the wondow, the other shining lights into your back windows etc. I was asked to pull into the parking lot becasue I wouldnt open my window past a crack to give my paperwork. after that I spent 20 minutes or so as they tried to trick me into searching my car. thankfully I know my rights and was able to avoid the search, I was ticketed however for not wearing a seatbelt...something that wasnt even mentioned until they realized that they werent going to get to search the car.

Force made up of Highway patrol, White county sherrif and sometimes state troopers. Meth is a big problem in our area, so they are keen to get into your car to search for it...

This Arkansas roadblock was added to the Roadblock Registry in August 2006.

Hwy 8 East near Ransom Road

Mena, Arkansas

When stopped at this location there were 3 officers one on the drivers side one on the passenger side and one at the back of the vehicle shining a flashlight into the back of my SUV. When the officer approached the veichle he asked if I had my "papers" and that this was to check for DWI's, seatbelts, and other such things. He told me that I would be on my way if everything cheked out okay.

At this time the officer on the passenger side was shining the flash light in the side mirror so that it was in my mother's face and she could not see him. After checking all that and looking to see if we had our seatbelts on the officer asked if I would get out of my car. I told him no and told him that I had never had any problems with tickets or anything that we had not done anything. He once again said he wanted me just to step out. I again told him no. I knew this officer and called him by name. Telling him I did not want to get out.

Another officer that knew me well walked over and said that he knew me and my mother and that we were fine to let go. After about 35 to 40 minutes we finally was aloud to go. With the last word that was said to us is that we did not need to be out that late. I am 23 and my mother is 40 last time I checked we lived in a state that you could be out when you wanted and what ever time you wanted.

Since then I am followed home on a frequent basis. I have since then changed cars and it has slowed down but the Police State will only get worse..

Hwy 178 at Bull Shoals Dam

Bull Shoals, Arkansas

Seemed to be checking for insurance.

This Arkansas roadblock was added to the Roadblock Registry in August 2001.

412 on Capps Road

Capps, Arkansas

This stop was advertised as a "sobriety check". The county of Boone Arkansas is a "dry" county and folks go to the nearby county to get their alcohol on Friday and many who partake, apparently according to the Highway Patrol, use this route to "sneak" back into Harrison Arkansas. I was asked for my "papers", comrade.

Fortunately my papers were in order and I was allowed after 5 minutes of intrusion into my private affairs to continue. I did ask the officer why he was stopping me and he told me the reason was to check for drunk drivers. I told him after he asked for my papers that I thought he was on a fishing expedition and that I felt like I was driving in Russia or Nazi Germany rather than the so called "free" united States. Anyhow, anyone "sneaking" alcohol back home via Capps-Batavia road should consider an alternate route or be sure that they have avoided consumption if they do travel this route!

This Arkansas roadblock was added to the Roadblock Registry in May 2001.

Intersection of Blacksnake Road and Bull Bayou Road

Garland County, Arkansas

Announced as a Sobriety check only.

This Arkansas roadblock was added to the Roadblock Registry in October 2000.
