I told the officer that I was not drinking and he started asking where I have been, where I have been before that and where am I going. After the 2nd question, I told him that he is invading my privacy and I will not answer any more questions.
He pulled me over and asked me to step out of the car. I asked him why and he told me he wants to talk to me outside because I have a dog inside the car. He told me that I have attitude and asked for my drivers license and insurance papers.
I told him that my privacy is important and that he is wrong if he thinks pulling me over will make me rethink how I respond to questions next time. I was pissed off because he had nothing on me. I asked if I was free to go, he said I was.
I don't believe road blocks should be legal where citizens have to prove that they have done nothing wrong by answering questions. The government answers to us, not the other way around.
This British Columbia roadblock was added to the Roadblock Registry in November 2008.
