Law enforcement agencies around Los Angeles County kicked off a holiday crackdown on drunk driving over the weekend and announced plans for added DUI patrols and checkpoints in the coming days.
On Friday, the first day of the push, officers from several agencies throughout the county arrested 176 people on suspicion of driving under the influence. Last year 197 people were arrested for DUI in the same period.
