US Hwy 27

South Bay, Florida

I was pulled over along with three other cars. We all had to exit our vehicles. Police and Homeland Security were there. Drug dogs sniffed our cars. Mine got a "hit" so they searched it. Took my driver's license, asked my occupation, and asked about the contents of the vehicle. I had no drugs so they let me go on my way. The sign said "roadblock ahead - drug dogs in use." I don't think the dog really got a "hit". I think they just said that to search illegally.

Biscayne Blvd at NE 144the St (Post Office)

North Miami, Florida

9-5-09 This road block has an unusual pattern. The police shepperd a string of vehicles into an area and check all of the drivers for everything from DUI to complete documentation verification. It then restocks the inquiries as each vehicle leaves. This can sometimes lead to 15-20 cars being stopped at a tims as most have no problems. They also post motorcycle patrols at either end up to 1/4 mile away to nab individuals who try to evade the roadblock. Additionally they block businesse entrances and driveways.
