Border Patrol and NYS Troopers, the Border Patrol agent ran the entire operation.
Asking all sorts of questions (where were you? when did you go there? what for?) then they wanted to search the vehicle without warrant or suspicion. Very disturbing that our constitutional rights are slowly being diminished much as it was done in communist states and fascist states. Many good men and women have shed blood to defend our rights and now the present politicians want to forget that and take them away.

Route 9W just past Chamberlain St.
Glenmont, New York
The roadblock is set up with 2 or 3 Bethlehem town police cars, typically at rush hour in the morning. Officers stand in the median and require cars to slow down so that inspection and registration can be scrutinized. Usually only cars heading south (away from Albany) are stopped, cars heading north are not looked at.
The roadblock is just after the 32/Delmar bypass bridge, so that you have no opportunity to avoid it if heading south. Best bet to avoid this annoyance is to take a left onto Corning Hill Road, continue south on River Road and take a right onto Glenmont road, getting back on 9W a bit past the roadblock.

In our low crime area. They are only here to make money. Most people are stopped for very minor violation such as tinted windows, burnt out tail light. But they will also scrutinize your vehicle for anything!

They are unfairly targeting our minority community. They do it on saturday night. We have virtually no crimes like DUI or drugs, and almost nobody has gone to prison for criminal convictions. All they are looking for is minor violations. They stop families with a lot of small children with absolutely no regard as to the time of day or major inconvenience caused.

When questioned why they needed to know where I was going, they had me pulled over. The officer was irritated at the fact that I would only crack my window enough to talk out of and not enough for him to reach into my car. He saw that I had a 6-pack in the car and questioned whether or not I was of legal age to obtain it. He used this as justification for seeing my license. He said I was being difficult. He made me provide my license and registration and asked if I had any warrants out for my arrest. He ran my license to check to see if I did have any warrants.

Saratoga Sheriffs set up here regularly. No way around it and it is such a lightly traveled road they stick their head in every vehicle.

Rude Officers asked for license ran it for 10 minutes and released. Driver in front of me was cuffed and jailed for reasons unknown.

Tuxedo, New York
In one week there was at least three road blocks that I personally went through. One inspection -registration check at four o'clock during rush hour, had traffic backed up a quarter mile. I feel like this is a police state. Tuxedo is a town of 3,000 people with 13 full time police officers. This is nothing less than a revenue grab at citizens expense, it is EXCESSIVE!
