I have not personally encountered this roadblock, but a resident in the neighborbood has and told me about it. She told me the roadblock is always in two different places, very close to the aforementioned intersection. The roadblocks are usually at night, but sometimes in the day. The sheriff and state police will simply ask for license and registration.
The resident who informed me of the roadblock suggests that the police are targeting a sub-neighborhood of residents who mostly live in double-wide houses. These residents are less formally educated and she suspects they are less familiar with their rights. The police also suspect that these residents are more likely to have violations.
This North Carolina roadblock was added to the Roadblock Registry in July 2008.
