This is a boarder patrol check point. Had no problem getting through but word to the wise if you are traveling through el paso and you have something to hide there is no way that I found to get out of the city without going through one of these.

November 6, 2012 9AM. Sheriff drivers license and insurance inspection checkpoint. I saw sign from several hundred yards away and turned around to avoid traffic jam. Sheriff deputy chased me down and a couple miles down the road to request papers. Let me go quickly after presenting papers.

This is regular INS or ICE set up, they stop every car. You must prove residency.

McCombs Rd

This is on McCombs Rd about 1/4 mile from the NM state line. The EPPD sets up a check and checks almost 100% of the cars for insurance coming from the town of Chaparral in NM. The lane from TX into NM is unstopped. The roadblock is set up to catch the citizens of Chaparral, NM coming into El Paso, TX, where most of them are employed.
