They are riding up and down Virginia Beach Blvd and pulling people randomly off to the side at old Oceana and taking them to a mobile police unit with a satellite like a news truck! 20 police easily.

Front Royal, Virginia

This roadblock started at 5:00pm on New Years Eve in Front Royal, VA at the intersection of Commerce Ave. and Remount Rd. not sure how long in the night it will last.

Park N Ride near exit 140 on route 311

Got stopped at the roadblock last night, Black Friday 2011. It was around 9pm and ended around 9:30 as soon as the officers were done with what they were doing. So it was probably set up a little while before. Also I have heard about this road block being set up on 311 near hanging rock on weekends usually anytime to random times when they want to do it.

Route 211 and 613, Rappahannock & Culpeper County line

Amissville, Virginia

Labor Day weekend, 2010 set up Saturday night at 10:00, stopping all motorists West and Eastbound. At least 8 state patrol cars, probably 20 officers present. I expect them again this year.

Rte 621 north of Rte 229

Jeffersonton, Virginia

Friday morning, 7:30 a.m. stopping all motorists checking license and registrations. June 3, 2011. This traffic was people of northern Culpeper county going to work, to school in the morning.

Route 33 at King William/King and Queen County Line

King And Queen County, Virginia

Set up on the King William/King and Queen County line on the King and Queen side of the bridge. There is no way to tell that a roadblock is there from the King William side (at west point). Lots of people come from Williamsburg heading back to Gloucester or vice versa after drinking because of the lack of police in that area. They catch LOTS of people.

They were looking for alcohol, insurance and vehicle registration violations.

Off I-95 going east on Route 30 before State Fair

Doswell, Virginia

I was 22 years old and had forgotten to register my car by June 30th, was stopped by a roadblock on my way home from work on July 3rd after 12 a.m. (I work at a restaurant). They ran my license and I found out that Virginia's DMV had suspended my license for too many points; DMV failed to notify me in any form (mail or email or phone).

The officer asked me if he could search my car. I said "yes" as I did not know of anything illegal in my car and I was actually scared by this officer. Since the car was not legally registered and my license was suspended unknowingly by DMV, they made me pay for their own towing service ($250) to take my car to their impound lot over 30 miles away on the southside of Richmond, VA.

I asked if I could call AAA and have it towed to my home, which was only 6 miles away. Not allowed. I went to court after hiring an attorney...(expensive), charges were dismissed and reduced to did not have license on me. The strange thing was that the Prosecutor had to say I was a single motorist stopped by the police for suspicion while traveling on I-95. They cannot say they used a roadblock in the court of law. Doesn't that seem strange?????
