stopped. There were cop cars in the turn lanes and signs for > everyone

| This checkpoint is in a "blind alley" where Hwy 159 comes through downtown Collinsville and crosses Main Street. There is a traffic light where you must turn right and then straight on Main Street or jog left on 159. Once you reach the point where you must bear right or left you are stuck in traffic and can't egress due to a median divider and other traffic. You are then in a funnel with a bank to your left and businesses on the right and the whole block is police performing the roadblock.
I have not been stopped in this roadblock as I ride my bike late at night through town and I've ridden through the checkpoint as well as sat and video taped what happens. I believe their mathematical formula is not consistent because they will allow a long line of cars to proceed while other times stopping every other or so.
I've seen this begin as early as 8pm and proceed past 11pm. There are usually 6 -8 cars and about 12 officers. There is little warning about this block. |

was a Local sting involving County Sherriffs and Mt. Vernon Police,they
set up a bunch of signs on the southbound lane announcing a Drug
stop ahead with K-9's and they set them up on the uphill side of
an overpass so you see the signs but can't see the otherside of
the overpass. There is an offramp at the top of the overpass and
if you exit on that offramp no matter what the reason they will
stop you for suspicious behavior. They will make up any percieved
violation to legally pull you over such as rolling through the stop,
crossing a white line (illegal lane usage), or what they used on
me (trailer hitch blocked license plate). I took the exit just to
see what they would do, they stopped me but then quickly let me
go. The trick is, I was a local resident therfore my exiting on
that offramp was not suspicious like it would be for an out of state
citizen exiting at such a remote location presumably due to the
drug signs they set up. The trick is, no matter what just stay on
the interstate and drive the speed limit and they cannot stop you,
if you get off on that offramp they will make up a reason to pull
you over. |

IL State troopers are positioned at the northbound and southbound
I-55 onramps at the Rt 30 intersection near the Joliet mall. Police
are positioned in a way to view into your vehicle before you enter
the highway and are everyone regularly to inspect license, insurance,
etc. You will certainly be flagged for driving without wearing a
seatbelt. I passed this at approx. 1pm on May 22nd, 2009. |

| We were
on our way to see The Dead (formerly Grateful Dead) in concert at
the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL on 5-5-09. At about 4PM on Interstate
90 at the toll both immediately before Lee St. which is the main
exit for the Allstate Arena, we came up on two State Troopers on
either side of us and they were at each and every toll both lane.
They asked us where we were going and we told them The Dead concert;
they told us to pull over. We pulled over right behind an SUV that
said K9 on it. The Trooper came up to us and asked my brother what
we were smoking; he said cigarettes. The Trooper asked him to put
it out and then inquired if we had smoked all our marijuana yet
or if we were saving it for the concert. The driver said, I've got
three kids at home. My brother said, I'm too old for that. I said
20 years ago. The trooper looked around our 1978 VW bus and said
okay get out of here. Close call! Called and warned another friend
to avoid the toll both and take back roads to the concert. Later
found out another friend got popped for open container at this roadblock. |

| On Friday
June 6, 2008 a roadblock was set up in the Hobo parking lot (near/attached)
to the White Castle. I was stopped around 1 am. All the cars were
seemingly stopped. There were MANY MANY police present and they
had several "lanes" set up with about a dozen officers per lane.
I was asked for license, registration, and proof of insurance. Then
asked what I was doing, where I was going, and why I was out. I
was then given a "field test" of following an officer's finger while
a flashlight was shone in my eyes. There were other officers surrounding
