Around the state "Traffic Survey" stations are taking place summer 2006. Road blocks are illegal and these surveys are suppose to be "voluntary" yet anyone who tries to exit or turn around is met by waiting police cars. Nothing voluntary about it. This roadblock appears when there is a large rock concert at Float-Rite Park across the river in Somerset, Wisconsin, or it is the period near the 4th of July. Minnesota State Patrol and Washington County Sheriff run everyone coming across the Stillwater lift bridge into a parking lot, where cars are searched for booze, drugs, impaired drivers, and fireworks (They are illegal in Minnesota). Long backups on the bridge coming into Minnesota. Use I-94 bridge to the south or US 8 at Taylors Falls.
