was told about this road Blcock from friends being set up there

St Lawernce NY State Troopers a the roadblock/checkpoint
always runs through your registration plates and licence to see
any illegal activity inluding criminal convictions just from one
fault example leak muffler you'll be checked through out you'll
wait for awhile this means they are checking Everything your licence,
insurance, registration past criminal convictions to find some
excuse to fault.
They have a scouts a quarter mile away from each
side of the roadblock/checkpoint radio in on a loud speaker at
the roadblock to the faults they find like loud muffler no seatbelt
speeding crack windshield etc.. personaly this is illegal to do
for having a lookout scout most at the begining of month to the
ending quota time.
Make sure you have your recipts from recent paid
fines as like a suspended licence dept of motar vehicals can take
up to 3 weeks to clear as police will still see it suspended on
the system plus make shure you have your order of protection papers
copy that is a no harrasment order in the car or youll end up
in jail as they will just see a order of protection in the system. |

day. Curiously, however, it hasn't been manned since the start of
the cold Winter months. Usually manned by Schenectady PD, sometimes

was appalled that the US Customs border patrol was 100 miles south
of the Canadian border checking everyone going south on Interstate
87. This is outrageous! Since 911, New York is a police state. We
got too many cops up here and they got too much time on their hands.
They are determined to keep the local jails nice and full so everyone
can keep their jobs working in the prison system. |

It was about 9:30 PM and my wife and I were coming
home from dinner. My wife was driving. The officers were set up
in a location at the bottom of a hill. There was no where to go.
The officer asked my wife where we were coming from. They asked
her if she consumed any alcoholic beverages. They then told her
to be careful about a burglar who had been victimizing the area.
Another driver was being put in handcuffs as my wife was being
questioned. The officer was courteous but my wife said it was
very intimidating. |

this is on a long straightaway
where you can't evade it unless you are heading north. Southbound
traffic has no chance. The State Police are from the Schroon Lake
barracks and have absolutely no sense of humor and are probably
some of the rudest individuals I have ever come across wearing
badges. Most cars roll through with no problem, but cars that
are older, or battered up are the most heavily scrutinized. To
an extent there is profiling going on. They will intimidate you
and if you give the > attitude back, you WILL get stopped and
they will FIND something to give you a ticket for... In my case
it was a decal low on the back window. The ticket was thrown out
of court, but that wasn't the point. It was the inconvenience
of being stopped and harrased on my way to work (which I was late
of course). These roadblocks are probably doing more to discourage
faith in law enforcement than any other thing. There really is
an US versus THEM mentality with these people. |

Asked me many questions about where I had just
been, including the name of the friend at whose house I had just
had dinner. When I stated that I was uncomfortable with this line
of questioning, they 'taught me a lesson' by detaining me for
over 45 min, before finally letting me go with a warning to be
more cooperative next time. Several officers gathered around my
car for intimidation, and stuck up for each other's lies. They
fabricated accusations (eg. that my eyes look glossy, or that
they saw me hide something under my seat) in order to show me
that they were in control. (note: I am 33 years old, clean cut,
gainfully employed, and never consume drugs or alcohol) It was
a very scary experience. |

Two Albany County Seriffs. One
motioned me to stop, as I stopped one said; "You're OK go ahead".
The other smiled. I did not smile because I was not happy about
being harrassed. It was 09:00. |
