I just went to town to wash my car and was detained
for over an hour. They asked me over andy over about illegal drugs,
firearms, if I had any warrants, etc. Drug dog was sent around
my vehicle, vehicle searched and had to do a sobriety test. I
had done nothing wrong and they had no right to treat me the way
they did. I have never experienced anything like this. I now know
my rights regarding road blocks and this will not happen again.
Thank you.

This particular ROADBLOCK site
is located just before an Exit, and a sign is placed that Declares
an upcoming Drug Check Point. The Roadblock, Checkpoint sign is
just before an EXIT, and says it is located about 1/4 mile down
(or up) the road. Everybody who gets off the exit in hopes to
avoid this roadblock are the ones stopped! The sign is a trick
to get you to take the exit in hopes to avoide the checkpoint!
By taking the exit, you bring your vehicle into the actual Roadblock!
BEWARE!

This roadblock has been set up
three times in the past 2 years, usually during the summer. Twice
it appeared to be a sobriety check for Memorial Day for Lake Thunderbird;
another time it served no purpose we could think of except for
revenue generation (this was about 4 pm on a weekday). During
the times we encountered this roadblock we were required to produce
drivers licenses (both driver and pax) and insurance cards.
