Just happened upon this roadblock
on 9/13/03 at midnight. They asked for my driver's license, then
walked around to the back of my car. The officer looked at my
license plate and then walked back around and gave me my license
back. I noticed they didn't give the car ahead of me much trouble
either. I'm not sure what they were looking for, but there were
several state troopers present and they all had orange vests on,
like they planned on being there for a while.

The officer's told us that someone had robbed
a gas station that they were looking for someone. They let a lot
of people go because they had other drivers trying to escape and
cut of the road block completely making themselves obvious that
somethings wronge. anyways, they set this one up a lot during
the weekdays, ex late night Mondays, Wednesday, Thursday

the light wands looking like they are giving you permission to

to the back and checked plate. From what I observed it appeared
that every vehicle stopped was asked for much for than myself.

Nichols is well known as a speed
trap but from time to time, usually on weekends, the county, state,
and town police run a traffic check. When they suspect something
is questionable, they have been known to completely strip-search
a vehicle, to the point of removing the seats.

| Road
blocks are set up just after dark in a 40mph curve just before a
35mph zone. In a dark area, hard to see. On 302 going N. just at
city limits across from grave yard, 302 South most anywhere. This
town is 1 mile from city limit to city limit. Seat belt law is the
money maker here. When they are not speedtraping they are hid beside
the funeral home(now is lit up)on left of 113 and 302 at hwy 39
hid in with parked cars on wrong side of the road.113 north, hid
in some pines at the city limit sign. |
