August 25, 2012 about 8:30 p.m. Construction cones on both lanes and centre of Route 27. A patrol car with lights flashing on each side of road. Several agents and dogs.Very well lit as if night construction was going on. The agent approached the car, noting we were Canadian, as Canadian licence plates are attached both front and back. He asked where we crossed (the border). He checked the back of the car with a flashlight. The agents were very polite and sent us on our way. We then passed a psychiatric hospital and correctional institute, so wondered if they were looking for a fugitive or for drugs. It was all very confusing, as we have never experienced anything quite like that.
