Railroad Cyn rd at Church
LAKE ELSINORE —- Police arrested seven drivers, including four suspected of drunken driving, during a safety checkpoint at Railroad Canyon Road and Church Street over the weekend, police said Saturday. The checkpoint, which ran from 7 p.m. Friday until 1 a.m. Saturday, also netted two arrests for alleged drug offenses and one for an outstanding warrant, Sgt. John Kaiser said. Of the 2,363 cars to pass through the checkpoint, 21 were impounded, Kaiser said. Most of the impounds resulted from drivers not being licensed or driving on suspended licenses, he said. Lake Elsinore Police Department, clerical support staff and Explorers conducted the checkpoint with funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
